FAQs
For individuals:
Where is Bring to Mind located?
Bring to Mind offers both telehealth and in person psychology sessions. Emily offers telehealth on Tuesdays, Saturday mornings and outside of regular business hours.
In person sessions are offered on Thursdays and Fridays at Pakington Health (374 Pakington Street, Newtown).
What is a Mental Health Care Plan?
Mental Health Care Plans (MHCP) also known as Mental Health Treatment Plans (MHTP) are part of the Medicare Better Access Initiative. MHCPs can be created by your GP or psychiatrist if you meet eligibility criteria. Most GPs will require a longer consult to complete the paperwork and refer you to Bring to Mind.
A MHCP and referral letter from your treating professional can provide access to up to 10 Medicare-rebated therapy sessions per calendar year.
The current rebate for clinical psychologists per 50-minute session is $141.85, resulting in an out-of-pocket fee of $108.15 for sessions within business hours, or $123.15 for out-of-hours sessions.
Do you offer Workcover, TAC, NDIS, court reports or assessments?
Currently Bring to Mind is unable to offer court support, or services for third party providers.
If you are on a self-managed NDIS plan, please include this in the Contact form.
How many sessions will I need?
Whilst the Better Access initiative offers rebated access to up to 10 sessions per calendar year, the amount of sessions needed may vary.
Emily will work collaboratively with you to determine your goals for seeking therapy and can provide both short-term and longer-term counselling depending on your individual needs.
How do I access telehealth sessions?
Telehealth sessions are held online via a secure telehealth platform that is HIPAA compliant. A link to the therapy session will be sent to you via email and you are able to join from whichever platform suits you best.
Given the content of therapy sessions, it is important that you are not driving your car whilst on the consult, or in a public area where you are unable or uncomfortable with talking about challenging topics. A quiet room where you are undisturbed is the best option. If you are aware that others are around, headphones may improve your privacy.
How do I pay for sessions?
Payments for sessions happen automatically through the practice management system. As part of the intake procedure, you will be asked to provide your credit/debit card details to assist with this process. All unsuccessful payments will be invoiced following the appointment with payment due within 30 days. In the instance of unsuccessful payments, no further sessions will be able to be booked until the balance is settled.
For supervisees:
Can we do supervision in person?
Absolutely! Emily is able to provide in person supervision in Geelong and surrounding suburbs. Please discuss further with Emily to determine suitable locations.
