Our Services

Individual 50-minute clinical psychology appointments offered either face-to-face from our rooms in Newtown, Geelong; or via our secure Telehealth platform. Sessions may be rebatable with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) from your GP.

Bring to Mind offer appointments outside of regular business hours via Telehealth. Sessions are available from 5pm on weekdays or between 9am and 1pm on Saturday.

Emily is a PsyBA approved clinical supervisor and offers clinical supervision to 5+1 interns, clinical psychology registrars and peer supervision to fully registered psychologists. 

About Dr Emily Trethowan

Director, Clinical Psychologist and Board-Approved Supervisor

Emily is an experienced clinical psychologist and board-approved supervisor with a wealth of experience in the field of mental health. With a deep passion for helping individuals overcome their psychological challenges, she has dedicated her career to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to her clients.

Emily has a strong foundation in evidence-based therapeutic interventions and believes in a collaborative and client-centered approach to therapy. She tailors her treatment plans to meet the individual needs and goals of each client, drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and trauma-focused interventions including EMDR. Her empathetic nature and non-judgmental attitude create a safe and trusting environment where clients can explore their concerns and work towards positive change.

Emily is able to address a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, personality disorders, and substance use disorders.

Throughout her professional journey, Emily has worked in various clinical settings, including hospitals, private practices, and community mental health centres. This diverse experience has provided her with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of mental health and the unique needs of different populations.

As a board-approved supervisor, Emily is passionate about nurturing the next generation of mental health professionals. She serves as a mentor and guide, providing supervision and support to psychologists in training, ensuring they develop the necessary skills and competencies to excel in their clinical work.

In addition to her clinical work, Emily is actively engaged in research and professional development. She remains up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field of psychology, ensuring that her clients receive the highest standard of care based on current best practices.

Outside of work you might find Emily walking her labrador, Buster, enjoying a coffee at a local cafe with her husband, or nose-deep in a good book.
